Breastfeeding in the Community – Webinar 5

The fifth webinar in the NACCHO Public Health Breastfeeding Series, will explore how breastfeeding has been woven into the performance measures of national public health programs, such as Title V, Healthy Start, Early Head Start, and Maternal Infant and Early Childhood and Home Visiting (MIECHV). The webinar will address how front line public health professionals can engage these programs to advance breastfeeding initiatives at the community level. Public health practitioners will provide insight from their organizational experience supporting the implementation of local breastfeeding initiatives through national public health programs. Organizational Presenters Include: Association of Maternal and Child Health Providers (AMCHP) Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition* Learning Objectives: 1. List the breastfeeding performance measure(s) for at least one national public health program. 2. Identify potential role of front line public health professionals (LHDs and CBOs) in supporting the local initiatives driven by national programs. 3. Discuss how one organization is leveraging their skills and expertise to influence national breastfeeding performance measures in their community.
